Not all divorces have to be long, drawn out court battles. Sometimes two people just need the Judgment of Divorce to move on with their lives. If you qualify, your divorce can be completed quickly and inexpensively for a reduced flat fee. If you are looking for a cheap divorce with an experienced family law attorney, we may be able to help. Call now to see if you qualify for this service.
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
Your divorce may qualify for our flat fee if your matter is “uncontested”. Uncontested divorces usually involve no property disputes or issues surrounding the couple’s minor children. If you and your spouse have been living separate and apart for the amount of time required by law, no court appearance is required, and the judgment of divorce can be obtained by default, you may qualify for this reduced fee.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
An uncontested divorce should not take longer than a few weeks, provided that your spouse will sign a waiver of service and appearance and no new issues are introduced to the matter. There are certain short delays that the State requires between the filing of the petition and the granting of the divorce.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE FOR $499.00?
For this reduced, flat-fee divorce you receive full legal services from the attorneys in the firm. At the Law Office of Sarah Pfeiffer, we will work with you to handle your case in the most cost-effective manner possible, while still providing you high-quality legal advice and service.
Our $499 uncontested divorce includes an experienced attorney’s work (not a paralegal) in drafting the legal documents necessary to file for divorce. This fee covers office, telephone and email consultations and preparation and notarization of documents. This fee does not cover court appearances by the attorney. This one-time payment does not include court costs, civil sheriff fees, and postage or courier services.
Courts charge their own fees and this $499 flat fee does not include those necessary court costs. Court fees are determined by the parish in which you file and the complexity of the case and must be paid before the filing of the Petition for Divorce.
WHY SHOULDN’T I USE THE FORMS I GOT FROM THE INTERNET?
Forms made available by third-party non-lawyer services, for instance, are often incorrect or not applicable in a specific jurisdiction. These mistakes can expose you to legal liability or render your rights under a divorce unenforceable. When we represent you, a licensed Louisiana attorney drafts the legal paperwork for you. Each case is different, so we customize the divorce papers to your particular situation. With this flat-fee uncontested divorce service, you get peace of mind knowing that your legal matter has been handled by an experienced, licensed professional.
WHAT IF I DON’T QUALIFY FOR A $499 REDUCED FEE DIVORCE?
If your case does not qualify for this extremely low-cost divorce option, our office is happy to work with you to help solve your family law needs, such as child support or child custody, community property partition and settlement agreements, and other divorce related issues in a cost-effective and timely manner.
At the Law Office of Sarah Pfeiffer, we understand that families in crisis need legal representation. and we will do our best to work with you to create payment plans and contracts that will meet your legal and financial needs.
